2205 stainless steel tubing, often manufactured to sa 789 S32205 standards, refers to hollow cylindrical pipes used for fluid transport or structural purposes. Products' properties and advantages

High Strength: Duplex 2205 offers significantly higher tensile and yield strength compared to 304 or 316 austenitic stainless steels—approximately twice as strong as 304. This makes it ideal for applications that require high strength with reduced material weight.
Excellent Corrosion Resistance: 2205 stainless steel provides outstanding resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion. It also has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
Good Weldability: Compared to traditional austenitic stainless steels, 2205 is less prone to welding cracks. Proper welding procedures are essential to maintain the balanced duplex microstructure.
Improved Heat Resistance: 2205 stainless steel can withstand operating temperatures up to 600°F (approximately 316°C). It also has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion, which helps maintain dimensional stability.
