According to data released by the Iranian Mineral, Mining Development and Innovation Organization (IMIDRO), Iran’s major steel companies exported a total of 4.56 million tonnes of semi-finished and finished steel products in the first eight months(March 21-November 21) of FY 2017, with Compared with the same period last year increased by 27%.
In the first eight months of FY 2017, Iran’s Hussein Steels Company (KSC) exported 1.73 million tonnes of slabs, primary and square-rolled steel, an increase of 57% over the same period of last year; Isfahan Steel Company has 742,375 tons of Beams, rebars, coils and other products were shipped overseas, up 83% year on year.
In Iran’s “20 Years Vision for Economic, Social and Cultural Development (2005-2025)”, Iran’s steel industry aims to reach 55 million tons of steel production by 2025 and become the sixth largest steel producer in the world . It is estimated that by the end of FY 2017 (March 20, 2018), Iran’s steel exports are expected to reach 8 million tons.
