Recently, Severstal company announced the commercial launch of a new color coating line at Cherepovets Works’ No.3 coating shop. The new color coating production line investment of about 8 billion rubles, not only can produce organic coating cold rolled coil, hot galvanized coil can also be produced. The production line can produce 200,000 tons of color coated coil and 400,000 tons of hot-dip galvanized coil every year after the production line is put into production. Its products will be mainly targeted at the construction industry and mainly sold to Russia’s northwestern, central, southern and Volga regions, and also it will be export to other countries.
The color coating production line was designed by the subordinate engineering company of Severstal. The main equipment was provided by Cockeril l Maintenance Ingenierie SA in Belgium. The color coating production line was started construction in 2015 and the organic coating production equipment was completed and put into operation in September 2017. After trial production verification, the production line can produce 22 colors of non-chromate organic color coated plates, these color coated plates can be used for processing household appliances. In addition, Severstal plans to introduce hot stamping technology and ancillary equipment to process the color-coated panels produced for construction into architectural decorative sheets, replacing imported color plates used by the Russian construction industry. Once the new production line is put into production, the organic color coated coils produced by the top three domestic steelmakers in Russia will meet the needs of the Russian domestic market, eliminating the need for the country to import such products again.
