The World Steel Association (worldsteel) released its forecast for short-term demand for steel in 2017 and 2018, and worldsteel predicts global demand for steel will increase 1.3% by 2017 to 1,535.2 million tons. It is estimated that global steel demand will increase 0.9% by 2018 to reach 1.5485 billion tons.
The demand for steel will rise periodically in 2017 and 2018, advanced economies will continue the recovery process, while the emerging and developing economies will accelerated growth. And also China accounts for 45% of the global steel demand.
